BY Group Dingos Rugby Team

At BY Group, community is the blueprint for everything we construct. Our mission to build cultural pride and strengthen community foundations is brought to life through sport. Whether through sponsoring local clubs or participating in community events, sport allows us to engage with our culture, celebrate Indigenous excellence and continually pave the way for the next generation of Indigenous leaders.

Here are some of the recent opportunities BY Group has taken part in to develop community through sport.

Rabbitohs Business Chamber Sponsorship

The Rabbitohs Business Chamber is a premium networking program designed to connect, promote and grow businesses within the South Sydney Rabbitohs corporate community. Through our sponsorship of the Rabbitohs Business Chamber, BY Group has had opportunities to attend various corporate events and blockbuster games.

Ella 7s Rugby Tournament

It has become an annual tradition for some of the BY Group team to take part in the KARI Foundation Ella 7s Rugby Union Tournament. This flagship Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tournament brings the game of Sevens to the wider Indigenous population, attracting around 400 athletes and officials each year.

Heartbeat of Football 10 Year Anniversary

Members of our leadership team at BY Group had the opportunity to celebrate the Heartbeat of Football Foundation’s 10 year Anniversary. The event brought together members of the sporting community to share stories and spread awareness about sudden cardiac arrest in sport. Heartbeat of Football was founded by accomplished sports journalist and broadcaster Andy Paschalidis to promote healthy hearts in sport through awareness, testing, education and research with the aim of reaching zero heart-related deaths on the sporting ground.

Over the past decade their community impact includes:

  • Advocacy for NSW Government Local Sport Defibrillator Program which provided $6m in funding over 5 years to to assist sporting clubs across NSW in the purchase and maintenance of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
  • 550+ heart health awareness and testing days across Australian sporting grounds, community events, licensed clubs and workplaces. Over 24,000 people have been tested with more than 13,400 (57%) advised to see their GP.

Lloyd McDermott Annual Fundraising Dinner

One of our longest-standing partnerships at BY Group is with the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Program. We had the privilege of sponsoring and attending their Annual Fundraising Dinner again in 2026. Their mission to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in Rugby connects strongly with us at BY Group. The sport is a powerful tool for cultural pride and building community connection.
