At BY Group, our vision extends beyond the physical structures we create. We are committed to creating sustainable employment pathways for Indigenous people by partnering with educational organisations who share our passion for cultural safety and community empowerment.
By collaborating with institutions like TAFE NSW and Western Sydney University, we have had the opportunity to apply our technical expertise to support learning for many students across New South Wales. From designing dedicated Aboriginal Learning Spaces to providing high school students with their first industry certifications, our goal is to deliver an environment where Indigenous excellence can thrive whether it is in the classroom or on a construction site.
TAFE NSW
BY Group has delivered a range of projects for TAFE NSW across many campuses. TAFE NSW offers dedicated support services for Aboriginal learners and resources to create an inclusive environment for Aboriginal students studying at TAFE NSW.
We are proud to have assisted in developing the infrastructure that will support Indigenous students throughout their educational journey at TAFE NSW. Here are some of the recent projects BY Group have been involved in:
Campus Stormwater Network Audit - Lidcombe, Padstow & Granville NSW
TAFE NSW has several campuses prone to localised flooding. They engaged BY Group to perform an audit and inspection of the current stormwater network by its subject matter experts with proven industry experience. The project team was guided to capture data to build major asset replacement works for the stormwater assets.
Aeroskills - Padstow NSW
BY Group has recently completed the TAFE NSW Padstow Aeroskills, an important project for the future of the Aeronautical Industry. This project involved the design and delivery of essential compressed air systems across multiple plant rooms, which are critical for the Aeroskills courses offered by TAFE NSW.

Aboriginal Learning and Cultural Spaces - Queanbeyan, Cooma, Shellharbour, Nowra & Wollongong NSW
BY Group was involved in the Design and Construction of the Aboriginal Learning and Cultural Spaces across multiple TAFE NSW campuses. We are proud to create infrastructure that directly supports improving access, participation and wellbeing for future generations of Indigenous students at TAFE NSW.
Some of BY Group’s key personnel on this project had the opportunity to attend the official opening ceremony of the Aboriginal Learning and Cultural Spaces at Queanbeyan, led by Hon. Steve Whan, Minister of Skills, TAFE and Tertiary Education.

Western Sydney University
In 2025, BY Group partnered with Western Sydney University (WSU) to support Indigenous students. We are proud to have the opportunity to support the Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education at WSU, a trusted, culturally safe space that supports hundreds of Indigenous students.
Members of our executive team had the privilege of attending the WSU Chancellor’s Golf Day in November 2025, proudly presented by Walker Corporation at the Lakeside Golf Club Camden. This event raised funds to support young Indigenous students to complete their studies at WSU.
Our team also attended the official launch of WSU’s 2026-2030 Indigenous Strategy in February 2026, which sets out the University’s vision to lead the nation in Indigenous excellence.

White Card Courses for Local High School Students
BY Group has recently hosted two White Card Courses at Vincentia High School and Alexandria Park Community School in New South Wales.
The White Card Course is the mandatory safety training required for any person working on Australian construction sites, including site managers, labourers and tradespeople. The course covers key topics such as hazard identification, safety reporting and risk management, with individuals receiving a nationally recognised card upon completion.
Delivering this training creates a practical and accessible pathway for these students to take their first step toward a career in the construction industry.
Our goal in supporting programs like this is to facilitate meaningful opportunities for Indigenous people to secure sustainable employment in the building and construction sector.

BY Group is dedicated to being a leader in the development of Indigenous talent. These projects and partnerships represent our ongoing commitment to supporting education, employment pathways and community outcomes for the next generation.
Together with our partners, we are proud to continue creating employment opportunities through construction and supporting local communities.
